We are looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our team in Washington, D.C. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. This role is fundamental to our logistics chain, ensuring that the right products are selected and prepared for shipment. Your efficiency and accuracy directly contribute to customer satisfaction and the overall success of our distribution operations.
Responsibilities:
- Read and understand pick lists or use RF scanning equipment to locate and retrieve products.
- Accurately pick items from designated shelf locations, ensuring correct quantity and product type.
- Verify product information against order details to minimize errors.
- Transport picked items to the packing or shipping station using appropriate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, carts).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles are clear and products are stored correctly.
- Report any damaged or missing items to a supervisor immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as required.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including proper Lifting techniques.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support the logistics team.
- Ensure all picked orders are ready for the next stage of the fulfillment process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Must be able to handle moderate physical exertion, including frequent Lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read and understand product labels and order information.
- Familiarity with warehouse environments and basic logistics principles.
- Ability to work independently and meet performance targets.
- Must wear required PPE, such as safety vests and gloves.
- Commitment to maintaining a Safe working environment.
- Good communication skills and a team-player attitude.
