We are seeking a certified Forklift Operator for our key distribution center located in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position is essential for the efficient flow of goods, involving the safe operation of forklifts to move, stack, and organize materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. You will be instrumental in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting shipping and receiving, and ensuring overall warehouse productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload products from trucks and trailers.
- Place received goods into designated storage areas and retrieve items for outgoing shipments.
- Perform routine checks on forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management activities, such as cycle counting and put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to a safe logistics environment.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff to achieve operational goals.
- Adhere to all company policies and contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current forklift operator certification and relevant experience operating forklifts in a commercial setting.
- Minimum of one year of hands-on experience as a forklift operator.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse safety principles and practices.
- Physical ability to perform tasks, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to personal safety and the use of required PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain functions is an asset.
