Our facility in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated logistics team. The Forklift Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. This role requires a keen focus on safety, precision, and productivity. You will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our distribution center, upholding our high standards for operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, stack, and unstack palletized materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Support warehouse operations as needed, contributing to overall logistics success.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and walking.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper PPE usage.
- Understanding of logistics operations and inventory management principles.
