We are hiring a Picker/Packer for our busy distribution center in the heart of New York City, New York. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items for customer orders and meticulously packaging them for shipment. Your attention to detail and efficiency will directly impact our ability to serve our customers promptly and accurately. This position requires a strong commitment to warehouse safety and operational excellence within a dynamic logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick merchandise from assigned locations using pick lists or RF scanners.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect products for defects or damage before packaging.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and assemble boxes or other containers.
- Package items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Meet daily picking and packing productivity targets.
- Assist with inventory checks and replenishment as needed to support logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or general warehouse work is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret pick lists and follow instructions precisely.
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including repetitive lifting (up to 45 lbs), standing, walking, and reaching.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Commitment to safety, including understanding and using PPE correctly.
- Basic understanding of logistics and warehouse flow.
