We are seeking a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Dallas, Texas. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and logging all incoming shipments. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring that our warehouse operations run smoothly. You will work closely with our vendors, shipping department, and inventory control team to resolve any discrepancies or damages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks and verify contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately document all received items using our inventory management system.
- Tag and label received items appropriately for storage.
- Report any damages, shortages, or overages to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Operate forklifts or pallet jacks as needed to move received goods.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes is beneficial.
