We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is critical to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and carrier requirements. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. A strong focus on organization and accuracy is essential. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify that outgoing orders match shipping documentation.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Enter shipping data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping department equipment, such as scales and label printers.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including lifting up to 25 lbs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a shipping clerk or in a related logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and computer skills, including MS Office.
- Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics best practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Reliability and ability to meet deadlines.
