We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to manage the flow of goods within our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility. This role is vital for our logistics operations, ensuring that materials are moved, stored, and organized efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for operating various types of equipment to transport raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have experience with material handling equipment, a strong understanding of warehouse layouts, and a commitment to safety protocols. This position requires physical dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Move, stack, and organize materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Ensure materials are staged and prepared for production or shipment.
- Keep the work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in receiving and dispatching goods as part of the logistics process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control principles.
- Excellent manual dexterity and coordination.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
- Good communication skills.
Working Conditions:
This role involves extensive use of material handling equipment and requires working in a warehouse environment. Exposure to varying temperatures may occur. Continuous adherence to safety standards, including wearing required PPE, is mandatory. This position is critical to the efficient functioning of our Minneapolis logistics network.
