As a Material Handler, you will operate various types of material handling equipment, load and unload shipments, and ensure that inventory is stored correctly and safely. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions.
- Follow all instructions for safe lifting and material handling.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment, or willingness to train.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Safety is paramount in this role. Proper use of PPE is required at all times. Employees will be trained on safe lifting techniques and equipment operation. This role is vital to our logistics chain and requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workspace.
