We are seeking a diligent and motivated Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. As a Material Handler, you will be an essential part of our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials within the facility, and maintaining an organized workspace. This role requires physical stamina and a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks. You will be working closely with other warehouse staff to meet daily production goals and contribute to the overall success of our supply chain. Attention to detail is paramount to prevent errors and ensure smooth operations. Your role is critical in maintaining the flow of materials, from receiving to staging for distribution. Strong communication skills are beneficial for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Experience with pallet jacks and forklifts is a plus, though not always required as training may be provided. Adherence to company policies and procedures is expected at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if trained and certified).
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the warehouse.
- Stage materials for production or shipping.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or equipment malfunctions.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and practices.
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all guidelines is essential.
