We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska. This vital role supports our warehouse operations by managing the movement and organization of goods. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials within the facility, ensuring a smooth workflow and efficient inventory management. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect for damages.
- Properly store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles are followed where applicable.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified) safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse as needed.
- Prepare materials for outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate order fulfillment.
- Maintain inventory records and conduct cycle counts.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proven ability to operate various types of warehouse equipment.
- Understanding of inventory control principles and logistics best practices.
- Must be able to perform manual tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and move throughout the shift.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, such as safety glasses and gloves.
