As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, stocking, and moving materials efficiently and safely. Your duties will include operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, as well as performing manual tasks like loading and unloading. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and stock incoming materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, including the use of PPE and safe lifting procedures.
- Assist with inventory management and record-keeping.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Understanding of safety regulations, including the importance of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 60 lbs).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
- Reliable and able to work flexible hours as needed.
