Our New York City, New York location is looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dedicated team. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, directly impacting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction within our Logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong analytical skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to identify discrepancies.
- Investigating and resolving inventory variances, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying items for replenishment or potential obsolescence.
- Implementing and improving inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and errors.
- Assisting with receiving and put-away processes to ensure proper stocking locations.
- Training and guiding warehouse staff on proper inventory handling and recording procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with all company Safety policies and the correct use of PPE .
- Analyzing inventory data to provide reports and recommendations to management.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth material flow and accurate inventory data.
This role requires the ability to work independently, analyze data, and communicate findings effectively. While not primarily a physically demanding role, it may involve occasional Lifting of up to 30 pounds for stock verification or movement. A strong understanding of WMS, inventory control principles, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) are required. Prior experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse environment is essential.
