Our Columbus, Ohio facility seeks a diligent Receiving Clerk to manage the influx of goods into our warehouse. This role is integral to our logistics network, ensuring that all inbound shipments are processed efficiently and accurately. You will be responsible for unloading delivery vehicles, meticulously checking quantities against order forms, identifying and reporting any damages or discrepancies, and properly recording received items in our inventory system. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the physical capacity for consistent Lifting. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all safety guidelines and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position demands a proactive approach to maintaining an orderly and secure receiving area. Your contribution is vital to the success of our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receiving process for all inbound shipments.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect inventory for quality and damage, documenting any issues.
- Input receiving data accurately into the inventory management system.
- Prepare and label merchandise for internal movement or storage.
- Coordinate with delivery drivers and internal departments.
- Ensure the receiving area remains clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company Safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Capability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control principles and logistics processes.
- Strong emphasis on Safety and adherence to protocols.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
