Facilities Specialist: What You'll Do

Mechanical Systems Maintenance & Repair

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical operating systems, equipment, and components using manuals, schematics, and test equipment to identify faults and operational issues.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and rotating equipment to identify hazards, defects, or required adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as part of a team, including disassembly/reassembly, gearbox overhauls, bearing replacement, and other mechanical work.
  • Perform all work in accordance with plant safety standards, housekeeping requirements, and quality procedures.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain complete and accurate equipment records within the CMMS, including tests, repairs, maintenance activities, and modifications.
  • Recommend improvements or design changes to mechanical systems, equipment, or maintenance procedures to enhance reliability and performance.

General & Cross‑Functional Responsibilities

  • Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Senior Facility Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist with spare parts inventory audits to ensure availability of critical components.
  • Identify and report hazards, defects, or unsafe conditions to the Senior Facility Maintenance Manager.
  • Monitor equipment deterioration and escalate concerns when continued operation may pose safety risks.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with other departments to minimize operational disruption.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas at all times.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
What You Bring
  • 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Millwright.
  • Strong work ethic with a solid record of discipline, attendance, and safety.
  • Comfortable working with computers and able to learn new systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and maintenance instructions.
  • Experience performing repairs and routine maintenance on production equipment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent follow‑up and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime or respond to call-ins when needed.
Working Conditions
  • Shift: Nights (Sunday–Thursday, 8:30 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.)
  • Environment: Work in a diverse, team‑oriented environment.
  • Physical Requirements: May include sitting, squatting, walking, overhead reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and climbing stairs or ladders.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $56,300 - $93,900
