Atrial fibrillation can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications. 


Kardium has a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market: The Globe Pulsed Field System. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story.  


We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients 


The Technologist supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing technologist team, with a primary focus on equipment expansion, new product introductions, equipment support and assisting manufacturing process improvements. 


Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. 


Meaningful work you will be a part of  


Your responsibilities will include: 


  • Overseeing the daily operation of the Technologist team, including new equipment troubleshooting, resolving material or equipment shortages, escalating build issues, documenting best practices, and providing technical support to other teams.
  • Leading and supervising a team of technologists, including task assignment, coverage and scheduling, project handovers, performance management, and coordination of technical training.
  • Planning, executing, and coordinating new and duplicate equipment builds, testing, commissioning, and qualification activities.
  • Coordinating manufacturing equipment implementation with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Production, Planning, Quality, EHS) and external contractors where applicable.
  • Coordinating retrofits of production and training center equipment to support NPI upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Developing and maintain documentation and seeking ways to improve best practices.
  • Providing formal safety ownership for the NPI lab area.
  • Ensuring effective communication through regular team meetings, coordinating procurement activities (e.g., McMaster orders), and supporting equipment expansions. 
  • Responsible for maintaining the NPI lab area to ensure cleanliness and 5S adherence.

    You are suited to our approach and possess these attributes: 


  • Technical qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or similar) with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Project, etc.).
  • Experience interpreting and reviewing technical models, drawings and schematics.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments.
  • Ability to respond to and manage critical situations in a timely and effective manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail. 

  • Compensation  


    Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted. 


    As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium's stock option plan. 

    • $90,000 - $110,000 (CAD Annually)
