About the Job:
- This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression from GS-5 to GS-12. You will start as a Customs Officer at the entry-level position (GS-9) in various locations throughout the United States.
In this role, you will have access to specialized training that includes basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, cargo inspection procedures and physical fitness exercises. This extensive training program is essential for success in this challenging but rewarding field!
Work Environment:
The work environment can vary depending on your assigned location. As a CBPO, you may work at ports of entry or along international borders where risk assessments are conducted on an ongoing basis. You must possess strong analytical skills to assess situations quickly under stressful conditions while adhering strictly within policy guidelines.
