Candidates are required completion pre-academy orientation followed by 101-day Federal training course conducted Glynco GA CBP Field Operations Academy – which includes basic law enforcement skills physical fitness etc., additionally candidates southern border Miami Puerto Rico assigned attend online Spanish course successful completion necessary position If candidate has prior military/law-enforcement experience they can bypass some requirements refer JOA USAJOBS check specific age restrictions veterans preference either form Formal Training two weeks paid home port approximately fully trained CBSO eligible $45k overtime pay GS5 GS7 up salary further depending upon performance level
