Seeking an organized and detail-oriented Inventory Clerk for our New York City, New York location. As an Inventory Clerk, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining accurate stock levels within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving and verifying incoming shipments, accurately documenting inventory movements, conducting regular cycle counts, and assisting with stock put-away and retrieval. This position is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that we have the right products in the right place at the right time for our customers. You will work closely with the warehouse team to identify and resolve any inventory discrepancies, ensuring the integrity of our data. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a basic understanding of warehouse procedures and logistics. We are committed to a safe working environment and require all employees to adhere to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting. Experience with inventory management software is a significant advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming inventory shipments.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders.
- Update inventory records in the system accurately and promptly.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Assist with the put-away of received goods and retrieval of items for order fulfillment.
- Maintain organized inventory storage areas.
- Generate inventory reports as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Inventory Clerk or in a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including inventory management software.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of warehouse logistics.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Willingness to use required PPE.
Physical Demands: This role requires extended periods of standing and walking, along with tasks that may involve bending and occasional lifting.
Safety Commitment: Your safety is paramount. You will be trained on all relevant safety procedures and the proper use of PPE. Adherence to all safety guidelines is mandatory to ensure a secure and efficient logistics environment.
