Key Accountabilities:  
 
Safe Transportation of Passengers
• Transport passengers safely and according to established policy
• Operate shuttle vehicles in a safe manner in all-weather/road conditions
• Conduct pre-and-post trip checks of vehicles prior to/after their use
 
Customer Service and Passenger Management 
• Provide information to and assist passengers in a courteous manner.
• Manage passenger behavior by quickly and effectively solving problems
• Aid in loading/unloading of wheelchair/stroller/walker passengers
 
Communication and Reporting 
• Maintain radio contact with base and use proper communications protocol
• Report vehicle maintenance issues, passenger emergencies, and schedule concerns
• Complete various forms of paperwork, as required

What We're Looking For:

  • Valid Class 4 driver's license or higher.
  • Clear driver's abstract.
  • Clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
  • Negative drug and alcohol test.
  • Strong knowledge of Langley and the surrounding area.
  • Physical ability to push/pull wheelchairs up and down a ramp or onto a lift.
  • Organized, punctual, reliable, and possessing excellent driving skills.
  • Calm, upbeat, and helpful demeanor with strong communication skills.

Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Previous taxi or shuttle driving experience.
  • Class 2Q driver's license.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive wage of $31.92 per hour
  • Paid training at $19.15 per hour
  • A supportive, family-oriented team environment.
  • Unionized position: Unifor Local 114
  • This position will work on an on-call basis with future opportunities for part-time and full-time roles
  • 520 probationary hours
  • Service will operate 7 days per week between the hours of 4:00 am to 1:00 am the following day
