- Develop Delta Lake pipelines using PySpark with structured streaming, incremental load patterns, and partitioning strategies
- Support modernization initiatives migrating on-prem SQL Server to Azure SQL/Synapse and SSIS pipelines to Spark-based solutions
- Monitor and optimize Spark job performance, Synapse SQL performance, and support cost optimization initiatives
- Implement data governance frameworks including data quality validation, metadata-driven pipelines, and disaster recovery planning
- Collaborate with senior engineers on architectural decisions, participate in code reviews, and work with application, BI/Analytics, and infrastructure teams
- Document technical implementations and support architectural proposals while following best practices in performance and governance
What you'll need to be successful:
Must Haves:
- 3+ years of experience in data development with 2+ years of hands-on Azure Cloud experience, including proficiency in Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Data Lake Storage Gen2, and Delta Lake
- Strong T-SQL knowledge including stored procedures, functions, indexing, and basic query tuning
- Experience with data warehouse design, Lakehouse concepts, and pipeline development frameworks
- ETL/ELT pipeline development experience including PolyBase/External Tables and data ingestion (JSON/CSV/Parquet)
- On-premise SQL Server experience with basic DBA tasks and knowledge of SSIS, SSAS
- Understanding of Integration Runtime, Azure networking basics, role-based access control, and GIT
- Good communication skills in English with ability to present technical information
Nice to Haves:
- Microsoft Fabric experience, CI/CD with Azure DevOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code exposure
- Monitoring and logging frameworks experience with cost awareness
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work collaboratively and learn from technical expertise
As an equal opportunity employer, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees
