We are building an AI-powered document intelligence platform for the pharmaceutical validation industry. Our MVP is already structured and coded in Lovable (backed on GitHub), but we need an experienced developer to complete the backend, database architecture, security features, and AI integration.
We are a Swiss-based startup (Visp, Valais) with strong market validation from industry leaders like Lonza. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term collaboration as we scale.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD
Complete the MVP of our retrieval-first AI platform that helps pharmaceutical engineers search, retrieve, and draft validation documents (protocols, SOPs, etc.).
WHAT'S ALREADY DONE:
Frontend UI (built in Lovable)
Basic project structure (GitHub repository)
Website design and branding
Product roadmap and specifications
WHAT YOU NEED TO BUILD:
1. Database Architecture
- Design and implement a scalable database schema (PostgreSQL or similar)
- Handle document storage, versioning, and metadata
- User management and permissions system
2. Backend API
- Build RESTful API endpoints or Python/FastAPI)
- Authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth)
- File upload and processing pipelines
3. Security Features
- Implement role-based access control (RBAC)
- Data encryption (at rest and in transit)
- Compliance with basic security standards (GDPR-ready)
4. AI Integration (RAG System)
- Integrate AI models for document retrieval (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source LLMs)
- Build a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline
- Implement semantic search using vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, or ChromaDB)
- Train/fine-tune models to retrieve relevant information from uploaded documents
5. Integration & Deployment
- Connect frontend (Lovable) with backend
- Deploy to cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, or Vercel/Railway)
- Set up CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions)

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 5+ years of full-stack development experience
- Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript , React)
- Experience with database design (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB)
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend architecture
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization systems (JWT, OAuth)
- Experience with AI/ML integration (OpenAI API, LangChain, or similar)
- Understanding of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems
- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB, or FAISS)
- Familiarity with cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure, or Vercel)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
