Frontier Protection Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Federal Law Enforcement Officer profession.

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders

The ideal candidate will have one year of general work experience that demonstrates leadership skills, ability to make sound decisions, maintain composure in stressful situations, learn regulations methods techniques classroom training on-the-job instruction gather concise information through questioning observation examination documents records OR education substitution bachelor degree successful completion full four-year course study field leading bachelor degree from accredited college university combination experience education calculated resume official unofficial transcripts submitted application OR specialized work experience shows necessary skills use firearms deal effectively courteous tactful manner connection law enforcement matters analyze rapidly make prompt decisions apply these skills law enforcement capacity criminal code enforcement determining violations laws correctional rehabilitation work involving criminal offenders security military etc formal training six months intensive instruction immigration nationality laws law enforcement USBP-specific operations driver training physical techniques firearms provided training proficient Spanish language Academy age restriction applies if currently serving previously served federal civilian law enforcement position covered Title 5 USC 8336c Title 5 USC 8412d Veterans Preference eligible exception service Veterans Recruitment Appointment VRA age restriction does not apply then.
