Border Security Specialist

Job Summary:

The Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) is a critical role in ensuring the security of our nation's borders. As a CBPO, you will be responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.

• You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using proper law enforcement methods.
• You must also have experience enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to/from the United States.
• In addition, you must utilize intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
• Furthermore, you must conduct interviews in a law enforcement capacity for gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine appropriate course action.

This position offers an annual base salary ranging from $61, 111–$124, 444 per year with locality pay varying by duty location.
