Border Security Specialist

Safeguarding our nation and its people is a vital responsibility. As a Customs and Border Protection Officer, you will play a crucial role in enforcing laws, facilitating trade, and protecting American interests.

The position requires specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. This includes detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws; enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture regulations; utilizing intelligence techniques to identify potential threats; conducting interviews for law enforcement purposes;

You must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years. The age restriction may not apply if you are currently serving or have previously served in a federal civilian law enforcement position covered by Title 5 U.S.C. 8336(c) or Title 5 U.S.C. 8412(d). Veterans' Preference is also available under an excepted service Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA).
