The Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) is a career ladder position that offers an exciting opportunity to work in law enforcement, protecting America's borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel.
Job Description
The CBPO will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to safeguard our borders by enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. They will facilitate the flow of legitimate trade and travel while conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances. Additionally, they will determine the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States and prevent illegal entry.
- Enforcing laws related to importing/exporting goods
- Facilitating trade/foreign travel
- Conducting cargo/baggage examinations
- Determining individual admissibility
Typical assignments include but are not limited to inspecting containers/trucks at designated ports-of-entry across USA.
The job requires rapid decision-making skills as you respond promptly at night/day during shifts working occasional nights or weekends when duty calls from airports/train stations port facilities etc., utilizing specialized knowledge about import export regulations security procedures ,
(The officers may be required) ' is not included because it has tracking codes.
