The role involves enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations, facilitating legitimate trade and travel, conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances, determining admissibility for entry into the United States, preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods, and identifying potential threats to national security.

• Detecting suspected violators of federal laws using proper enforcement methods.


• Enforcing regulations related to importing/exporting merchandise within US territories.


• Analyzing intelligence data for risk assessments on potential threats.


• Conducting interviews in law enforcement capacity for gaining information from suspects. 

• Promotion opportunities up to GS-12 grade level based upon performance evaluations over time (GS5-GS7-GS9) .
