The CBPO is responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws. They facilitate legitimate trade and travel while preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods. The officer must make rapid decisions based on regulations, instructions, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal laws.

To qualify for this position you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-7 level or higher that includes work such as detaining violators law enforcement methods importing exporting utilizing intelligence techniques interviewing suspected violators conducting risk assessments examining cargo merchandising inspecting passengers physical fitness training etc., OR A Master’s degree LL.B J.D. OR Combination of Experience Education Successfully completed graduate-level education calculated using your resume transcripts submitted application.
