Border Protection Officer Role

The Customs and Border Protection Officer is part of the Department of Homeland Security workforce, striving to prevent illicit activity and enhance economic prosperity.

Key responsibilities include enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws; facilitating trade and travel; conducting inspections; determining admissibility; preventing illegal entry and smuggling.

• Must possess three years full-time general work experience demonstrating ability to meet people needs or have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university. Combination of both also considered.
  The three-year service contract can lead up 15k annual incentives with diverse salary ranges based on grade levels GS-5 through GS-12 including overtime pay as high as $45,000 annually


• A minimum one year specialized full-time work experience equivalent next lower grade level OR education substitution such as superior academic achievement by GPA class standing honor society membership OR graduate-level education demonstrated necessary knowledge skills abilities doing the job
