Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Communications Specialist with the Enterprise Communications Team, your primary role will be to support the development and execution of clear, engaging communications that helps Vancity employees stay informed, aligned, and feel inspired by Vancity's mission. You will create content, including graphics, photos and video, for various internal channels and support internal events and projects. As needed, you will also support external communications to help us share Vancity's story with our members and communities. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented and innovative communicator who enjoys hands‑on content creation and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at Vancity head office and will report directly to the Director, Enterprise Communications. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.
How You'll Make an Impact:
Writing and producing internal communications such as announcements, stories, newsletters, FAQs, and presentations
Producing engaging graphics, images and video to support stories, presentations and other content
Providing communications support for internal enterprise projects as part of a team
Producing clear and engaging content for external audiences, when needed
Supporting the execution of communication plans by coordinating timelines, gathering information, and preparing content for review
Assisting in maintaining and updating content across internal digital channels to ensure accuracy and consistency
Conducting communications measurement and tracking analytics to gauge communication effectiveness across channels
Collaborating with cross‑functional partners to ensure content is well‑informed, aligned, and accessible
Coordinating logistics for communication‑related meetings, events, and tactical rollouts to support smooth execution of initiatives
What You'll Bring to the Team:
Post‑secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
Approximately 2-3 years of communications experience in a complex or fast‑paced environment
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify complex information for employee‑focused and member‑aligned audiences
Experience producing content for internal channels such as intranet, email, presentations, and digital platforms
Experience producing images, graphics and working with video
Ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail
Comfort collaborating with cross‑functional partners and building positive working relationships
Familiarity with basic communications planning, measurement, and content management tools
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite and commonly used digital communication and web publishing tools
Extra Skills That Set You Apart:
Experience with graphic design, video editing, or simple multimedia content
Knowledge of change management or employee engagement practices
SharePoint or content management experience

What You'll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $69,700 to $75,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
