About this opportunity:
The Senior Applications Advisor plays a key role in strengthening Cenovus's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) ecosystem. In this role, you will lead the development of a standardized enterprise testing practice, expand the use of Tricentis tools, and enable new SAP technologies introduced through our platform modernization initiative, including SAP Focus Build and SAP Workzone. You will collaborate closely with Business, IT, and partner teams to ensure coordinated delivery, while contributing to the successful execution of our multi‑year ERP sustainment and modernization roadmap and supporting the transition of legacy applications.
What you'll do:
Lead SAP ERP release management and enterprise testing across ECC, S/4HANA, and integrated systems, ensuring quality metrics, release readiness, and proactive risk mitigation.
Establish and maintain standardized enterprise testing practices, including governance, test cycles, automation, defect management, and quality gates; optimize the use of Tricentis modules.
Enable and operationalize SAP post‑RISE technologies (SAP Focus Build, Solution Manager / Cloud ALM, SAP Workzone) to support coordinated release and operational processes.
Drive cross‑functional planning, delivery, and issue resolution with Business, IT and partner teams.
Support execution of the multi‑year ERP sustainment and modernization roadmap, including integration migrations, platform upgrades, analytics transitions, and system enhancements.
Contribute to legacy application treatment to ensure process alignment, integration compatibility, and operational readiness.
Coach and guide support partners, ensuring SLA measurement, performance management, and assistance during patching, maintenance, and upgrades.
Support operational readiness and release management by identifying and communicating risks, and collaborate on major change requests and project delivery
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Post-secondary education in Computer Programming, Networking or Computer Science or a post-secondary education in Business combined with related IT experience.
8+ years' experience working as an ERP Advisor, specific to Oil and Gas industry preferred.
Extensive hands-on experience in configuring and implementing ERP solutions, including the integration with connected applications.
A proven track record of successful program management in complex, multi-function programs including having led large, cross-division functional teams or projects that had a long-term effect on the organization.
This in person role joins our Calgary-based team in office 5 days a week.
