| What we are looking for
Reporting to the Director, RTR Participant Services, this is a senior member of the RTR Participant Services team and plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the RTR and planning the evolution and future state of real-time payments in Canada.
The RTR Participant Services team provides business and technical expertise to ensure the operational excellence of the Real-Time-Rail (RTR) and interfaces with member organizations to develop, maintain and improve the business processes, rules and standards supporting the operation of the RTR.
| A day in the life
Your responsibilities as the Manager include but are not limited to:
Ongoing Operations
Manage and support ongoing operations and business issues related to the RTR, including onboarding of new participants.
Provide management, training, development and guidance to direct reports on matters related to the RTR operations.
Provide subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders for any matters related to RTR payment operations, rules and standards.
Strategic Leadership
Contribute to and lead aspects of strategic planning on the future state of real-time payments in Canada, including the underlying business and technical architecture to support the future state.
Provide direct input into the process of developing budgets associated with projects and operational activities supported by the Participant Services team.
Relationship Management
Provide a business interface role between Payments Canada management, member organizations, the Bank of Canada and other external stakeholders, ensuring that issues impacting members or Payments Canada are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
Act as Project Sponsor for various payment system projects as assigned by the Director.
Manage and support external vendor relationships with key technology partners.
Understand developments in the broader payments environment and the implications on current operations at Payments Canada.
Leadership, People And Team Development
Develop, implement, and maintain a divisional strategy in line with the organizational strategy, designed to enhance or reliably sustain existing services over the longer term, and to proactively identify opportunities for new or amended services.
Provide strong leadership to the divisional team, ensuring the necessary tools and support are in place to enable the team to be successful.
| What you need to be successful
Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, or a related discipline.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the payments ecosystem, including progressive management experience.
Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Advanced knowledge of the RTR and the underlying real-time payments, including operational policies, rules and functionality.
Travel will be required.
Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
| Salary range
Based on qualifications and experience: $105,750 to $141,000.
