We're looking for a dedicated YouTube Thumbnail Designer who understands how to stop the scroll, boost CTR, and maintain a consistent visual identity across a large content library.
This is a long-term position for someone who wants to grow with the brand—not a one-off or agency role.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing high-CTR YouTube thumbnails for tutorials, reviews, and comparison videos
Creating multiple thumbnail concepts per video (A/B-style variations when needed)
Matching the Darrel Wilson visual style while continuously improving performance
Incorporating text, faces, emotions, arrows, highlights, and visual contrast effectively
Collaborating with our editor and content team to align thumbnails with video hooks
Who We're Looking For
You understand YouTube psychology, not just Photoshop.
You should:
Know how thumbnails influence CTR, retention, and viewer expectations
Understand contrast, composition, facial expression, and visual hierarchy
Be able to research competitors and trends in the WordPress / tech / SaaS space
Work independently and iterate quickly based on feedback and performance
Prior experience designing YouTube thumbnails is required.
Required Skills & Tools
Proven YouTube thumbnail portfolio (required)
Proficiency in Photoshop, Figma, or similar design tools
Ability to design for mobile-first viewing
Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition
Fast and reliable internet connection
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
Experience working with educational or tech YouTube channels
Familiarity with WordPress, hosting, SaaS, or online business niches
Understanding of YouTube analytics and CTR optimization
Working With
