Department: Security 


Availability: Monday to Sunday, various operational hours and holidays    


Position Type: Seasonal    


Reports To: Supervisor, Security 


Purpose 


The Security Team Lead assists in the day-to-day supervision of frontline Security Officers, supporting safe, secure, and professional park operations. Working closely with the Security Supervisor, the Team Lead ensures posts are staffed, assignments are completed, standards are upheld, and incidents are handled promptly and professionally. The Team Lead acts as a shift leader in the park, providing direction to staff, mentoring new team members, ensuring guest service expectations are met, and maintaining accurate documentation of incidents, patrols, and operational activity. When the Security Supervisor is not on site, the Team Lead serves as the acting shift-in-charge. 


Key Responsibilities 


  • Deploy Security Attendants and Access Control Attendants to assigned posts and adjust coverage based on operational needs.
  • Provide coaching, support, and real‑time guidance to personnel during the shift.
  • Respond to incidents including disturbances, lost persons, medical emergencies, and guest concerns.
  • Support operations by conducting:
  • Guest bag checks
  • Staff entry screening and ID validation
  • Enforcement of prohibited items 

  • Conduct regular patrols of guest areas, staff zones, and the parking loT
  • Monitor crowd flow, identify risks, and deploy resources where needed
  • Complete log entries, incident notes, and shift reports accurately and professionally
  • Report maintenance and safety hazards immediately and follow up as required
  • Complete accurate reports including:
  • Incident details
  • Trespass documentation
  • Daily activity summaries
  • Shift logs
  • Witness and employee statements 

  • Ensure staff operate in accordance with: 

  • Trespass to Property Act
  • Criminal Code of Canada (Section 494)
  • Mental Health Act
  • Privacy and information security expectations
  • Park policies and procedures 

  • Perform additional responsibilities as necessary to support the Security Department and overall park operations. Management may revise duties based on emergencies, operational needs, or workload change

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to earn respect and guide a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent judgment and decision making under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to de-escalate difficult interactions while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance guest service with enforcement responsibility. 

  • Qualifications 


  • Valid Ontario Security License 
  • Previous experience in security
  • Experience leading teams or shift operations strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act, Criminal Code Section 494, and Mental Health Act
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills required.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification an asset
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification is an asset

    Work Environment 

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This position requires occasional work in or around water, confined spaces-cramped quarters, heights, noise, detergents/chemicals, mechanical hazards, moving objects, fumes/odours, dust, mists, gases, or vibrations. The noise level is generally moderate.
