The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $91,000 - $123,200. The offered salary will be based on the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications, as well as internal equity considerations.
Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a Product Quality & Supplier Development Specialist to support our Quality Engineering team. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager of Quality Engineering.
The selected candidate will lead in the investigation of all accessory field quality activities and ensure the compliance of product suppliers with TCI design, performance and packaging requirements.

What You'll be Doing:
Accessory Field Quality
- Lead in the investigation of all accessory field quality activities. Collaborate with TCI
Product Quality & Service Support and Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) Service Parts and Development (SPAD) to follow all Toyota field quality reporting guidelines - Work with development engineers (DE) and suppliers to identify product failure root causes and implement countermeasures
- Create and publish dealer communication documents
- Support the adoption and execution of all compliance requirements related to accessory products as directed by Legal, Vehicle Safety & Compliance Liaison Office Canada (VSCLOC) and Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America (TEMA)/Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC)
- Constant field monitoring of warranty failures to ensure that product failures meet departmental KPI targets and warranty costs are within budget
Supplier & Development Support
- Work with DEs and suppliers to accurately complete the creation of all quality related APA documents in accordance with SQAM compliance
- Manage the completion of all supplier product change requests (PCR) to ensure that all changes meet TCI design, performance, packaging and compliance requirements
- Proficient in preparing and assessing MQC, IS and PFMEA, for continuous improvement and compliance with TCI standards
- Where required, facilitate the initial arrival inspection of new products to TCI to confirm incoming products meet TCI design standards
- Support TMNA SPAD QE groups in the adoption of TCI developed accessories to expedite the sale within the USA market
- Assist in the creation of i-sheet development when required to ensure that all products are launched on time
Port Activities
- Lead TCI Port audit activities with TCI Logistics group for all of TCI's Ports to confirm that facilities meet the global quality requirements set out by TMC
- Support all ports in the management of local torque monitoring system (Atlas Copco) to aid in the accuracy and completeness of installations
Warranty Data Analysis
- Review claims rejected or partially paid by suppliers, discuss claims with suppliers and/or dealers, recover parts when needed and lead the technical investigation to find and understand the root cause
- Look for warranty trends, calculate the failure rate and start an official investigation when needed
TMC and Internal Surveys
- Coordinate the completion of TMC and internal surveys (child labor, customer surveys …) by distributing them to dealers and suppliers, collecting responses, reviewing the submitted data, and providing the consolidated results to TMC and our Legal Department
What You'll Bring:
- University Degree/College Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong background in automotive manufacturing environments or demonstrated experience in industrial engineering and project management
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- French/English bilingual considered an asset
