We are hiring a reliable Shipping Clerk for our facility in Portland, Oregon. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all outbound shipments. This includes preparing shipping documents, verifying order contents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining organized records. Your attention to detail and commitment to efficiency will be key to our logistics operations. We are looking for a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Safety is paramount, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position offers a great opportunity to develop your skills within the dynamic world of warehouse logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and affix correct shipping labels to packages.
- Double-check order details against packing lists and shipping manifests.
- Schedule and confirm pickup times with shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized and accessible shipping files and records.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and external logistics partners.
- Ensure all shipments comply with relevant regulations and company standards.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and wear required PPE.
- Assist with occasional material handling and Lifting as needed.
- Keep the shipping area clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role is a plus.
- Strong organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and tracking.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and using PPE.
- Capability to perform light to moderate Lifting when required.
