Role :

The Hatchery Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the hatchery in order to meet business objectives to be accountable for all aspects of hatchery performance and ensures that objectives are attained in a cost-effective manner that's consistent with quality requirements. They are responsible for planning and implementing best practices and procedures and to delegate authority to key supervisors to manage all functions involved.

Priority:

Manage all hatchery activities direct and implement and effective quality assurance program ensure hatchery follows industry regulations on sanitation, vaccinations, etc. Plan and develop hatch schedules that consider market forecasts and customer orders, supervise employees to ensure all hatchery standard are being met, stay current on industry knowledge and new trends. Communicate with farmers on feeding and breeding practices, maintain appropriate animal welfare in the hatchery. 

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate hatchery activities
  • Oversee quality assurance program
  • Monitor facility equipment and repairs
  • Oversee hatchery sanitation
  • Keep a current knowledge of industry trends
  • Plan and oversee hatchery budget
  • Forecasts manpower requirements, coordinates selection, training and project the ongoing needs of hatchery
  • Comply with all Company policies and animal welfare guidelines
  • Manage chick care, maintenance, packing and transfer activities
  • Coordinates and communicates with sales team, director of Operations and COO the supply of hatching eggs, pick up of hatching eggs, setting of hatching eggs, ensuring efficient and cost-effective hatching and filled orders to customers
  • Manage and maintain weekly hatch schedules
  • Direct supervision/management of employees
Requirements
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Demonstrated high leadership qualities in leading a business and team, must have ability to motivate employees to keep operations running smoothly.  
  • Knowledge of safety systems and processes.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and follow through on the execution and improvement
  • Excellent Analytical & organizational skills
  • Problem-solving, must be able to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects in a production line.
  • Time Management, ability to face production deadlines, shipping dates and more, must manage time accordingly
