**Contract Term: Until November 30, 2026**

IMCO is seeking a Director, Strategy & Operations to support the Client Relationship Management (CRM) team. The Director leads strategic planning and drives operational effectiveness, overseeing key elements of IMCO's CRM mandate, including major client initiatives, planning and execution activities, and close collaboration with internal partners.

Reporting to the Chief Client Officer, this role plays a critical part in enabling a high performing team by guiding business planning, leading client event programs, and refining processes and tools for the team. As an experienced professional, the Director also helps shape and execute client communications and must demonstrate strong business writing capabilities.

As a senior leader within CRM, the Director plays an active role in developing and reviewing client-facing collateral, ensuring a strong client lens across initiatives and champions a client centric tone across the organization.

This role also drives internal initiatives to strengthen relationships with current and prospective clients, influencing without authority, building trust with internal partners, and ensuring client needs remain central to decision making.

The Director enables the CRM team to deliver on its mandate by:

  • Partnering with IMCO stakeholders on process and change initiatives

  • Identifying and advancing continuous improvement opportunities

  • Building agility and scalability into team operations

  • Partnering with CRM leaders to define and deliver a broad range of client strategy initiatives

The successful candidate brings expertise in structured problem solving, critical business issue identification, program design and management, cross-functional collaboration, change management and high trust relationship building.

As a Member of Our Team You Will be Responsible For:

  • Lead, plan, design, and execute client events and communications, in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Partner with CRM leadership to design and deliver the client success communication strategy for internal and external audiences.

  • Act as a strategic partner and primary liaison for enterprise-wide programs that impact CRM (e.g., annual planning, corporate initiatives, employee programs).

  • Lead the annual and multi year planning programs for the CRM team, including budgeting and long term operational planning.

  • Provides strategic oversight in support of the Client Portfolio Management Committee, coordinating input, ensuring governance and guiding client-centric portfolio discussions.

  • Partner with senior leaders across IMCO to support strategic objectives and organizational priorities.

  • Build strong relationships with partners across Investments, Finance, Operations, Risk, and other IMCO teams.

  • Continuously improve robust, efficient, and repeatable operational processes, partnering across IMCO to streamline workflows.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and development to CRM team members.

  • Foster a culture of partnership, care, inclusivity, and client centric thinking.

What do you need to succeed?

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field of study.

  • An advanced degree in Finance, MBA, or a related field and/or CFA/CPA/FRM/CAIA designation would be an asset.

  • 10+ years of experience working in related roles in financial services, management consulting, or other relevant industries.  

  • Good understanding of financial markets and investment products, experience working for an institutional asset manager is an asset.

  • Experience structuring problems, resolving ambiguity, driving to decision and action, getting things done, delivering business results.

  • Experience in leading and mentoring dynamic and diverse teams.

  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments.

  • Strong analytical skills and business judgement as well as business writing.

  • Team player who enjoys a collaborative environment and high-performance culture

  • Exceptional tact, diplomacy, and strong client focused approach

  • Exceptional communication with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a variety of internal audiences.

  • Dynamic inter-personal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and engage all stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop strategies and implementation plans.

  • Role model work ethic, using the highest level of integrity under all conditions.

  • Ability to influence others through the appropriate use of persuasion, passion, empathy, and logic when presenting opportunities, issues, and recommendations.

  • Demonstrated strength in decision-making, strategic analysis and planning, all with sound judgement.
