Position Overview:
Wages: $24.60/hr
Shift timings: Rotational 12 hours.
Location: Ingersoll, Ontario
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports operationally to the Security Shift Supervisor.
Respond to emergencies including but not limited to fires, hazardous material events, medicals and other calls for assistance.
Patrols interior and exterior of entire facility.
Main dispatch and system monitoring for internal and external emergency services.
Responsible for enforcing visitor protocol and access control for the site.
Utilize CCTV system.
Notify Insurance Underwriters and AHJ of fire system impairments as required.
Implement site Emergency Response Plan as required.
Incident Report writing and keep daily activity log.
Atmospheric Monitoring for Confined Space Entry Permits as required.
Perform fire watch duties as required.
Issue Parking Violations as required.
Perform all other duties as assigned by site leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be able to read, write and speak in English and possess reading, writing and comprehension skills sufficient to compose written reports and interpret rules, regulations, policies and similar instructions.
- Have work experience in security, policing or a related field.
- Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR certification.
- Must be able to obtain a clear driver's abstract.
- Have working knowledge of various computer applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Have working knowledge of access control, CCTV and life safety systems.
- Be poised, tactful and diplomatic and be able to make decisions and exercise good judgment under stress and in critical emergency situations.
- Due to the nature of work being performed, must be in good physical condition and able to perform the work.
Excellent customer service etiquette.
Able to work individually and as part of a team with minimal need for supervision or direction.
Proven ability to multitask and balance priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
