Purpose of the Role::
We have an internship co-op opportunity within our Asset Management Operations team for a student enrolled in post-secondary studies specializing in Finance, Economics, or Business. This role is ideal for someone eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting while contributing to a dynamic, client-focused environment.
As an Asset Management Intern, you will provide hands-on support to the team as we implement our new Investment Platform (SimCorp), with a focus on data migration and testing for private assets (private equity, private debt, and infrastructure) and fund administration workflows. Working alongside the SimCorp project leads, you will help onboard financial and accounting data across investments and deals, support the establishment of complete and accurate investment records, and the onboarding of new fund administration and operational processes. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to special projects aimed at enhancing our Investment Platform and operational workflows.
This will be a 3-month internship starting in June 2026. The location will be a hybrid of work from home and an in-office environment at our Vancouver/Toronto office.
Core Responsibilities:
Support the data integration and migration from existing systems to SimCorp Dimension using new and existing tools.
Support the establishment of complete and accurate records and data integrity of investments/deals in the new Investment Platform.
Contribute to due diligence on investments, including financial statement analysis and building, reviewing, and analyzing investment/deal metrics in SimCorp.
Assist in clarifying workflows in SimCorp for operational efficiency and support the calculation of fund Net Asset Value.
Work closely with portfolio managers, fund administrators, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergrad program at an accredited Canadian university/college in Finance, Economics, Business or Project Management.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); comfort working in SharePoint is an asset.
Strong administrative, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and think critically to seek out information and solutions independently.
Experience working independently, as well as in partnership with other team members.
Available full-time for the full summer term.
Legally eligible to work in Canada for the full term.
Compensation & Benefits Package:
Our internship position offers a competitive market salary of $26 per hour, along with additional benefits.
