About The Role
Our client, a leading organization specializing in high-performance data center design and critical infrastructure solutions, is seeking an MV/HV Electrical Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of medium- and high-voltage power systems in mission-critical environments.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong expertise in power distribution, protection systems, and high-availability network integration.
Why Join This Organization?
You will work on impactful, large-scale infrastructure projects where electrical reliability and continuity are essential. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering innovative, safe, and resilient power systems for next-generation data centers.
Key Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and optimize MV/HV electrical systems (5 kV to 132 kV) for high-availability data centers.
Develop and review electrical drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications (AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, etc.).
Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, arc flash analyses, and grounding designs.
Ensure full compliance with electrical codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, NFPA, CSA, RBQ).
Collaborate with local energy providers for grid connections, substations, and transformer installations.
Select MV/HV equipment including switchgears, transformers, generators, UPS units, and circuit breakers.
Support construction and commissioning teams during installation, testing, and system start-up.
Conduct on-site inspections and troubleshoot electrical distribution issues.
Ensure system redundancy, energy efficiency, and continuous availability of critical infrastructure.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in MV/HV power distribution, electrical design, or grid integration—preferably in critical environments (data centers, utilities, industrial plants).
Experience with high-availability electrical systems is a strong advantage.
Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, MATLAB or similar software.
Knowledge of protection systems, relay coordination, and SCADA.
Professional Engineer license (P.Eng – OIQ, PEO, or equivalent) preferred.
Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.
Ability to travel frequently to the USA based on project requirements.
Ready for the Next Step?
If you're passionate about building resilient, high-performance electrical systems in critical environments, we want to hear from you.
