Über

We are launching a jewelry e-commerce store using Shopify (Theme Whiff) and need an experienced Shopify frontend developer to integrate a 3D product configurator powered by iJewel.
This is NOT a full store build. The Shopify store is already in progress.
We specifically need help connecting Shopify product variants with the iJewel 3D Viewer and ensuring a smooth, fast user experience.
Main goal:
Embed the iJewel WebGL viewer on Shopify product pages and sync Shopify product variants (metal colors) with the 3D configurator.
Project stage
We are currently in the early setup phase:
- iJewel subscription not finalized yet
- First CAD models will be ready soon
- We would appreciate guidance on the correct iJewel setup and best practices for Shopify integration before implementation begins.
This project will start with planning and setup, followed by the actual integration.
Tasks:
- Implement iJewel viewer into Shopify theme (Dawn or similar)
- Create a Shopify section for the viewer (Liquid)
- Connect viewer to iJewel Drive (Client ID + Access Token setup)
- Load models dynamically via Model ID
- Sync Shopify variants → iJewel material variations (metal colors)
- Ensure no page reload when switching variants
- Optimize performance (lazy loading, mobile performance, PageSpeed)
- Basic testing on iOS Safari and Android
Tech stack:
- Shopify Liquid
- JavaScript (frontend)
- API integration
- Experience with WebGL / 3D viewers is a plus
Nice to have:
Experience with product configurators
Experience with headless or advanced Shopify setups
Please share relevant Shopify projects and any experience with configurators or 3D viewers.
We are looking for a developer who could become a long-term partner as we scale the store and add more products and configurator features over time.
Contract duration of less than 1 month. with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: JavaScript, Web Development, Shopify, Shopify Templates
Optional skills: HTML, CSS
