The YMCA Child Care division is seeking an enthusiastic Camp Supervisor for our Spring day camp programs. This position is available at our Kelowna Family Y. As a Camp Supervisor, you will work in a team environment leading our Camp Leaders to provide safe, fun, and engaging interest-led programs for children aged 5 to 12 years.
Our Child Care Team is supportive, dynamic, and growing We are looking for individuals who are energetic, active, responsible, and caring. Must be available March 16-27, 2026 between the hours of 8am-5pm.

If the following sounds like a good day at work, this job might be for you- Actively interact with children ages 5-12 as a play partner.
- Support optimal developmental growth through play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, arts and crafts, drama, games, team building, community out trips, swimming, daily physical activity, outdoor play, and sports.
- Responsible for direct leading and supervising of staff and children, including supervision, safety, program planning, and instilling the Y's core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
- Plan, implement, lead, and evaluate specific theme activities making sure staff and children stick to the daily schedule
- Guide, coach, and provide feedback to leaders during program times
- Build healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Support and deal with sensitive member family experiences and situations, children's behaviors
- Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment in all areas.
- Track daily attendance and on-site observations for children and volunteers
- Complete daily paperwork, including incident reports, safety checklists, and messaging for parents.
- Monitor and support children with difficult behaviors and coach staff accordingly.
- Participates in and promotes YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives and philanthropy
- Over 19 years of age
- Valid class 5 operator's license (Class 4 license is an asset)
- Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C
- Experience working with children and youth with exceptionalities an asset
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Passion to help children achieve their full potential through purposeful programming and implementation
- Minimum 1-year experience working with children
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Considered an asset is a Responsible Adult Certification or 20 hours of professional education in Child Development, health, nutrition, safety, and/or guidance.

- Service Orientated: Deliberately identifies and creates opportunities to enhance each individual's YMCA experience. Creates action plans to resolve any service gap areas.
- Relationship Building and Collaboration: Builds positive interactions, listens attentively, and communicates effectively to create an open communication environment. Share information, best practices, and resources with colleagues.

- Provide 3 references of a professional nature (e.g. Employer, Supervisor or Colleague)
