This is the jobAs a Lean Analyst, you’ll be the go‑to expert for spotting opportunities to improve how we work and delivering meaningful change. You’ll champion Lean and Six Sigma principles, helping redesign processes that boost efficiency and support the AA’s EBITDA goals. Working closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager and IT Operations Director, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering both strategic and tactical improvement projects across the organisation.
You’ll work with teams across the entire business, so we’re looking for someone dynamic, curious, and confident collaborating in varied environments. This role involves flexible working across AA sites, giving you the chance to influence change where it matters most.
What will I be doing?- Leading the identification, documentation, and delivery of operational efficiency opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational design in support of EBITDA and strategic goals.
- Managing analytical discovery phases, presenting findings and solutions through robust root‑cause analysis using Lean and Six Sigma methods.
- Collaborating with the Customer Journey Mapping team to ensure accurate mapping and maintenance of all ‘as‑is’ and ‘to‑be’ processes within the central repository for audit compliance.
- Aligning cross‑functional teams delivering multiple projects with competing priorities, ensuring clarity, coordination, and timely progress.
- Quantifying improvement opportunities and securing approval by validating benefits with Resource & Planning, Operations, and Finance, communicating outcomes through Senior SteerCos.
- Supporting the delivery of change initiatives across the organisation, contributing to site‑wide change portfolios and transformation plans.
- Coaching and guiding local Lean Practitioners, promoting best practice and strengthening Lean capability across the business.
- Managing the development and maintenance of Nintex online forms, ensuring up‑to‑date process architecture and effective fallback solutions.
- Developing MS Power Apps and partnering with IT Ops EUC teams to test and release automated solutions that streamline processes and reduce cost.
- Partnering with the RPA team and stakeholders to translate automation requirements into clear specifications, while preparing and presenting updates, risks, and opportunities to key stakeholders and championing robust change governance.
- Experience in a role like this is essential, including leading projects of varying scale, driving change, and applying Lean Six Sigma principles (Green Belt minimum).
- Strong analytical capability, with excellent numerical skills and proven experience interpreting complex data, conducting root‑cause analysis, and turning insight into meaningful recommendations.
- Confidence in building and validating business cases, supported by experience writing and presenting clear, persuasive proposals and papers to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to design and lead effective workshops, with excellent communication, influencing, and presentation skills, and the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy across documentation, analysis, process mapping, and change governance.
- Solid understanding of operational processes, ideally including detailed knowledge of AA breakdown products and how they support customers.
- Strong technical capability, with good working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Nintex, Microsoft Power Apps, ServiceNow, and Triaster.
- A recognised Change Management qualification, demonstrating a structured and professional approach to delivering sustainable change.
- Strong hands-on experience with advanced SQL query writing and Power BI dashboard development is essential.
