We’re looking for a proactive and technically minded Software Project Manager to help deliver digital systems across our farm and agri food business.
This role is Ideal for someone from an operations, coordination, or logistics background who enjoys using their technical and logical thinking to improve systems.
We’re looking for someone who thinks logically, enjoys solving problems and feels comfortable working with external software developers, even if they haven’t worked in a formal IT role before.
You’ll act as the link between our internal team of end-users and our external software developers, turning business needs into clear requirements, developing clear priorities and helping ensure the successful delivery of systems.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external software developers.
* Support the management of software projects across operations, food safety, supply chain processes, and workforce management.
* Build and maintain project timelines, track milestones and help keep projects on schedule.
* Work with colleagues in operations, logistics, HR, and quality assurance to gather detailed system requirements.
* Translate business needs into clear specifications and workflows.
* Support testing activities and ensure development aligns requirements.
* Prioritise enhancements, bugs, and new features based on business value and effort.
* Work on systems supporting worker onboarding, scheduling, compliance, and performance tracking.
* Monitor risks and support mitigation planning.
* Assist with system integrations, data flow understanding, and platform compatibility.
* Ensure solutions support regulatory, food safety, and labour‑compliance standards.
*About You*
You have a strong technical and logical mindset, enjoy understanding how systems and processes fit together, and feel comfortable working with technology.
This role suits someone who enjoys problem‑solving, structured thinking, and collaborating with others and who wants to develop their skills in software project management and digital systems.
You might have experience in roles where organisation, process understanding, and system use are central—such as operations, coordination, logistics, or similar environments.
*Essential Skills *
* Some experience working on or supporting digital, software, or operational projects.
* Strong logical thinking, analytical skills, and problem‑solving ability.
* Confidence working with systems, processes, and structured information.
* Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
* Comfortable working with external technology partners and internal stakeholders.
* Basic understanding of project management concepts.
*Desirable *
* Experience in agriculture, food, logistics, or other regulated sectors.
* Knowledge of workforce management systems.
* Familiarity with APIs, data flows, or integration concepts.
* Exposure to agile working practices.
* Awareness of food safety or labour‑compliance frameworks.
*Working Hours*
This role is offered as a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension depending on how the role develops and business needs.
This is an office‑based position, and we are not offering remote or hybrid working for this role.
We welcome applications for both full‑time and part‑time working patterns.
Our preferred hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, but for the right candidate we are open to exploring alternative arrangements.
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible due to operation requirements, however we can be flexible depending on the candidates circumstances, but the role must not begin any later than early May.
This is a paid employment position, we are not seeking consultants, contractors or agency support at this time.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
