What You'll Do As the Lead Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for shaping and enhancing Rural King's security framework while leading a small team of Security Analysts. Your role will involve designing and managing a Cisco-driven security infrastructure, advocating for Zero Trust principles, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through automation. You will effectively communicate risk across various departments and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely risk mitigation. Key responsibilities include: Mentoring and guiding a small team of Security Analysts by setting priorities, goals, and career paths while defining roles for incident management. Designing and operating various Cisco security solutions, including Secure Firewall, ISE, Duo MFA, Umbrella, and email security systems. Creating security policies, segmentation, and monitoring for headquarters, distribution centers, and retail locations. Implementing a robust Zero Trust Architecture focused on continuous verification and strong user and device trust. Contributing to enterprise IAM strategies with Azure AD and managing SSO/MFA initiatives. Coordinating with external partners on MDS/SIEM activities and leading incident response processes. Overseeing vulnerability tracking and remediation efforts while scoring risks appropriately. Ensuring compliance with PCI and other retail security responsibilities while maintaining necessary documentation and collaborating with auditors. Leading initiatives for patch management, server hardening, and maintaining secure configurations. Providing regular updates to executives and cross-functional teams, alongside the creation of playbooks and metrics dashboards to demonstrate risk mitigation progress. Participating in continuous learning opportunities to stay abreast of industry trends and enhance your skills. Delivering exceptional support to internal and external stakeholders by addressing inquiries and issues effectively. Embarking on other assigned tasks as needed, exemplifying Rural King’s core values of People First, Integrity, Teamwork, and Continuous Improvement. Supervisory Responsibilities This position includes supervisory responsibilities. Essential Qualities for Success Over 10 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity/IT security engineering, including 2 years of leadership experience. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CCNP Security, and Cisco ISE/Duo/Umbrella. Proven experience with Zero Trust design across various security layers. Familiarity with NIST CSF/800-53, CIS Controls, and PCI DSS standards. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods. Extended periods of computer work. Occasional travel to stores and distribution centers for various duties. Able to lift up to 15 pounds periodically. Ability to navigate all facilities easily. The pay range for this position is $115,000 - $120,000 annually, plus eligibility for bonuses based on factors such as geographic location, education, experience, and organizational needs.
