Data Analyst (Class Action Litigation Support)
to support a dynamic and growing class-action defense practice. This position is flexible, allowing the option to work remotely while being within a reasonable commuting distance from our offices in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Washington D.C. The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in managing, analyzing, and visualizing data for complex cases, including wage and hour disputes and class-action litigation. We are looking for an ideal candidate who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and possesses outstanding technical, analytical, and communication skills to enhance class-action litigation support processes and deliver exceptional service to our clients. Key Responsibilities: Data Management & Analytics
Collaborate with attorneys and clients to assess data needs and deliver actionable insights. Source, structure, and manage raw datasets from payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS systems. Utilize advanced tools to analyze data and create visual reports, including pivot tables and dashboards. Conduct data analyses to produce deliverables like exposure analyses and pay equity audits. Prepare analysis reports to highlight case strengths and potential settlement strategies. Organize data workflows for comprehensive wage and hour analyses.
Collaboration & Communication
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate data discussions. Coordinate with IT and eDiscovery teams to ensure compliant handling of sensitive data. Effectively communicate findings through reports and presentations to stakeholders.
Technology Strategy & Support
Evaluate and suggest new tools and methodologies for data analysis and reporting. Leverage software like Excel, Tableau, and SQL for dynamic visualizations of metrics. Support staff in analytics roles for backup coordination.
Class-Action Specific Support
Assist with analyses supporting CAFA removals and develop class lists. Conduct pay equity analyses to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with expert witnesses to create effective exposure models for litigation strategies. Generate detailed reports underscoring trends in complex class-action claims.
Trial & Litigation Preparation
Support attorneys with data summaries and visual exhibits during trial preparation. Review data-related findings in expert reports for alignment with litigation strategies.
Research & Discovery
Manage specialized datasets and participate in information-gathering interviews.
Administrative Tasks
Document billable time and tasks per firm policies and ensure timely submissions. Maintain consistent attendance and adhere to schedules for meetings. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 4-6+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, ideally in employment class action litigation. Master's or Bachelor's degree in statistics, data analytics, or a related field. Technical Skills:
Expertise in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions. Experience with visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI. Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems such as ADP and UKG.
Excellent communication and ability to present findings to non-technical audiences. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for drafting complex documents. Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail under deadlines. Knowledge of employment law, pay equity, and EEO compliance is preferred. Able to create effective visual insights for case strategies. Demonstrated organizational skills and capacity to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed. Experience in a law firm or professional services setting preferred. About Us:
