• The Border Patrol Agent is responsible for detecting and preventing unauthorized entry into the United States, as well as enforcing immigration laws and regulations.

• The annual base salary varies by grade level: GL-5/GL-7 ($49,739 - $89,518 per year)


• Duty location impacts pay rates; locality pay for federal law enforcement is higher in some locations than others


• A fully trained BPA may be eligible for up to an additional 25% of base pay under the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014

The career ladder progression includes promotions after completing 52 weeks in each grade level
