Border Patrol Officer Job Description

The United States Border Patrol is a dynamic and challenging career opportunity that offers individuals the chance to serve their country while working in a fast-paced environment. As a Border Patrol Agent, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and regulations related to immigration and customs, as well as maintaining national security.

This position requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work effectively in high-stress situations. You must also be able to pass a rigorous training program at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico.

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders
