Border Enforcement Officer

Candidates must be U.S. citizens with primary residency in the country for at least three of the last five years. You must also meet age restrictions, which vary based on your law enforcement experience or military background.
​You may qualify for an excepted service Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA) if you're eligible under Title 5 U.S.C., 8336(c), or Title 5 U.S.C., 8412(d). Formal training will include intensive instruction in immigration and nationality laws, driver training, physical techniques, firearms usage, and other courses at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia New Mexico.
