We are seeking a highly skilled Customs and Border Protection Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in law enforcement, protecting American interests and securing the nation.
About the Role:
The Customs and Border Protection Officer will be responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations. This includes facilitating legitimate trade and travel while preventing illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods. The successful candidate will also conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances, determining admissibility for entry into the United States.
The ideal candidate should have specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level or meet the education substitution requirement. Experience should include detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws; enforcing importing/exporting laws; utilizing intelligence techniques for threat identification; conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity;
Citizenship requirements include being a U.S Citizen with primary residency (includes protectorates) for at least three (3) years out of five (5). Age restriction may not apply if serving/has served as Federal civilian LEO position covered by Title 5 U.S.C. 8336(c)/8412(d), eligible Veterans' Recruitment Appointment (VRA)
Federal Benefits Overview:
- A competitive salary range: GS-9 $61K-$124K/year including locality pay variations.
